In the Hyde Park neighborhood of South Tampa, this home brings traditional architectural detail together with a modern approach to furnishings and color. Custom wainscoting, substantial moldings and warm wood floors give the rooms a sense of continuity with their historic surroundings. Neutral earth tones create a quiet foundation, while sculptural lighting, contemporary artwork and fresh green accents give the interiors a distinct personality.

The entry introduces the home’s balance of structure and softness. White paneled walls frame a wood staircase with dark railings and white risers, while wall sconces bring a warm glow to the architectural details. A textured dark console anchors the foyer. Nearby, a pair of green upholstered chairs and small tables create a welcoming place to sit, adding color against the pale walls and rich flooring.

In the formal living room, tailored neutral sofas and lounge chairs are arranged around low tables on a softly patterned rug. Tall windows, woven shades and long drapery panels bring texture to the room, while contemporary artwork and distinctive cabinets add visual interest. The dining room carries that combination forward with a wood table, upholstered chairs and a grouping of glass pendant lights. Generous openings connect the rooms, allowing the paneled walls, furnishings and art to be seen together as a continuous composition.

The family room takes a relaxed direction with a large gray sectional, cushioned ottomans and layered rugs. Broad windows bring views of the garden and pool into the interior, and woven shades soften the daylight. Wood flooring and neutral upholstery connect this gathering space to the more formal rooms, while the seating arrangement offers ample room to settle in and enjoy the view.

The bedroom continues the restrained palette with blue gray walls, an upholstered bed and patterned bedding. Dark textured nightstands and tall table lamps bring depth to the room. Window seating, upholstered chairs and a fireplace create additional places to relax, with patterned drapery and woven shades adding warmth around the windows and French doors. Throughout the home, familiar architectural details and carefully chosen modern pieces create interiors that feel comfortable, composed and at home in Hyde Park.
