Project Details:
In St. Petersburg, Florida, Crespo Design Group refreshed this waterfront home while preserving the traditional character that makes it distinctive. The design builds on existing architectural details and enhances the serene coastal atmosphere of the setting. Warm wood finishes, soft green upholstery and blue accents connect the interiors with the surrounding landscape and water. Colorful textiles and carefully placed furnishings bring a fresh sense of comfort to rooms designed for gathering, relaxing and enjoying the view.
The main living room combines a coffered ceiling and substantial wood media cabinetry with inviting upholstered seating.
Pale green chairs, a neutral sofa and an ottoman create a generous conversation area. A striped rug introduces lively bands of color, while a patterned armchair adds another layer of visual interest. The warm wood floor anchors the varied palette. Tall windows and light curtains brighten the room, balancing its traditional details with the easy atmosphere of a coastal home.
In the dining room, a wood table is paired with pale upholstered chairs and a bench. A crystal chandelier adds sparkle above the table, and framed artwork brings color to the surrounding walls. A nearby sitting area places two green armchairs beneath an arched window, creating a quieter place to pause. These spaces carry the same balance of familiar forms, soft fabric and carefully chosen color found throughout the home.
The family room provides another comfortable gathering space, with a green sectional sofa and a round coffee table beneath tall arched windows. Shutters filter the daylight while keeping the architecture visible. The adjoining bar combines wood cabinetry, glass-front upper doors and green lower cabinets. Counter stools provide seating at the bar, making the room well suited to casual entertaining without losing the traditional character of the interiors.
Blue and green tones continue in the bedroom, where a pale blue upholstered headboard sits between green bedside chests. Botanical curtains frame the windows, and striped bedding gives the room a layered, relaxed appearance. Mirrored wardrobe doors reflect light and extend the view of the furnishings. A blue dresser adds a stronger note of color. In the bathroom, wood cabinetry and a wide framed mirror maintain the home’s warm, established palette.
Outside, the covered terrace extends the living spaces toward the waterfront. A wood ceiling, substantial columns and an outdoor kitchen frame a dining area, while a fireplace and lounge seating create additional places to gather. Wood lounge chairs sit beside the pool with an open view across the water. The entry’s paneled door, white wall trim and small red bench offer a welcoming introduction to a home where traditional architecture and refreshed coastal interiors work together.
