GRAY’S FOR 2014

This blog post was recently updated on Nov. 13, 2015

Grays for 2014 continues to be one of our most “clicked to” pages on our website.

Even though it’s almost 2016 and Simply White from Benjamin Moore is the next “it color” for Tampa interior design paint choices, variations of grays remains a strong choice for many homeowners looking to revitalize their decors.

So why gray?

We believe it’s because it “plays so well with others” — it’s a natural color compliment for other stronger colors, but also is a best friend of whites, blacks and gold.

And here in the warm Tampa Bay area, gray offers up a coolness in the palette while still affording the room an upscale, luxury image. You’d be amazed at how often clients gravitate toward the gray spectrum when choosing paints as well as furnishings and accessories.

Take a look at our portfolio of design work and see if you can pick out the gray colors interwoven within our designs.

Excited to see more Gray in 2014?

Looks like it’s here to stay. I love the soft warmth of the Reasoned Collection by Sherwin Williams in the color forecast for 2014. It’s the perfect accent for the coastal condo renovation we started this week.

Loving this Suvi wallpaper by Romo Wallcoverings – the interplay of colors perfectly resonates with the grays we love. Its inspiration, drawn from 1950’s Scandinavian designs, make it a delightful addition to a new modern renovation.

Other materials we adore with gray? Caesarstone countertops in Nougat, paired with bright white gloss cabinets. Glass subway tile in a soft blue palette, and of course, trim in Sherwin Williams Extra White. For these walls we are inspired by stormy Summer nights on the Florida coast and love the cool neutral tones of Earl Grey.

Sherwin Williams Crushed Ice is the perfect quiet compliment to this fabulous textured mosaic style porcelain for the Master Bath. It lets the tile speak for itself.

The forecast for more gray is not disappointing at all for this designer. Subtle and graceful, greys have transformed themselves from the non-color with little flair and imagination, to the most versatile color we use. Simultaneously both feminine and quiet, yet emboldened and revered.

Not to mention it’s the perfect compliment to this view. Stay tuned for the finished project, coming soon.
